Why is there no video or audio on the replay? What should I do?

The reason why there is no image and sound in virtual classrooms is due to the fact that the web browser cannot play the corrupted media files as a result of the corruption of the media files due to some of the reasons listed below.

During the Covid-19 epidemic process, almost all of the people in Turkey and in the world are actively using the internet online. This situation has sometimes affected virtual classrooms.

Among the problems experienced;

  • Instructor's internet problems,
  • Problems with the unstable connection of the internet provider used by the instructor (Ping drop or peering imbalance),
  • Server internet problems,
  • Server density and
  • Due to problems caused by intensive image processing, the replay recordings of some virtual classrooms may be corrupted.

Most of the time we are able to recover audio and video. While some of the media files can be recovered without any problems, some of the media files are due to frame and bitrate losses;

  • Synchronization problem,
  • Thinning and thickening of the voice,
  • Acceleration or deceleration of audio and video,
  • Speeding up one of the audio or video and slowing down one

Such problems may arise.

We are working to avoid such problems.

During the recovery phase of the media file, some media files can be recovered in 5 minutes, while some files can be recovered after a process that takes 4 hours. On the night of April 27 to April 28, we made improvements to media processing and analysis, 2-6 weeks for virtual classroom replays for sessions that took place before April 28, and new sessions after April 28 for virtual classroom replaysIt can be resolved in 1-4 weeks.

Our recommendations to our users to avoid such problems.

  • We recommend that the instructor conduct a test session using a wired connection, if possible, instead of using the Internet and a wireless connection.
  • We recommend that the instructor's internet upload speed be at least 1 Mbit.
  • Having 8 GB of Ram and a 4-core processor on your computer will make it easier for you to transfer images.
  • If the instructor is using a VPN server or DNS, we recommend that they close or reset these connections completely and only use the internet provider's service during the virtual class.
  • If connected via wireless connection, we recommend that the virtual classroom lesson be conducted from a location close to the modem with a stronger wireless network signal.
  • If possible, in order to prevent ping drops, we recommend resetting the IP of the modem by turning off the modem before the virtual class starts, unplugging the modem from the socket, waiting 20 seconds, and plugging the modem back in.
  • If you are at home during the virtual classroom, logging out of other devices using the internet will increase your internet speed during the lesson.
  • If you are connecting to the internet from a corporate location, the firewall may limit your internet or some of the web addresses you log into.
  • Browser download aids may be interfering with the operation of some functions.
  • Ad and tracker blockers may be interfering with the system's functions.
  • There may be a problem that your internet provider slows down the internet during an hour when the internet is used very heavily.
  • You may be affected by the maintenance work of the internet provider.
  • The server may have encountered an error while writing the file.
  • The server may have encountered an error while processing the file.
  • When moving files between the handler server and the storage server, the migration may be interrupted by an error. (It's checked every night. It will be solved one day.)
