Secure Browser Modes Overview

The Secure Browser offers three security modes – Basic, Medium, and High – each tailored to different exam requirements.

Mode Description
Basic Provides a standard proctoring setup with minimal restrictions. Examinees can close or minimize the Secure Browser and access other applications. Suitable for less restrictive testing environments where full lockdown is not required.
Medium Designed for exams that include practical components requiring access to other applications. Administrators can configure an Allow List of permitted applications and a Block List to restrict unauthorized ones. Examinees may minimize the Secure Browser, use allowed applications for exercises, and then return to complete the exam. This mode balances flexibility with exam integrity.
High The strictest mode, enforcing all available lockdown features. Examinees cannot close or minimize the Secure Browser until the exam is completed. The use of any other applications is strictly prohibited, ensuring maximum exam security and integrity.
