The table below describes problems that may occur during the system check on a new interface and provides instructions on how to resolve them.

Camera and microphone are blocked

The microphone or camera is not connected, or access to them are disabled on the computer or browser.

If you see a crossed-out camera icon in your browser's toolbar, it indicates that the page has been denied access to your camera and microphone.

Grant the access by clicking the crossed-out camera icon.

If the permission is granted in the browser, check your computer settings by clicking Open settings.

No image from the webcam

The expected image data from the webcam is not being successfully recognized or received by the system due to various reasons such as connectivity issues, driver problems, or hardware malfunctions.

Your microphone is muted

The system has detected that your microphone is muted.

We're unable to upload video files to the storage

Your internet connection is unstable or the internet speed is less than the required 1 Mbps, which is the minimum speed needed for taking the exam.

No sound from the microphone  

You speak too quietly, or the microphone is either muted or the volume levels are set too low.

Access to screen recording is disabled in OS settings

Access to screen recording is disabled in OS settings on your Mac.

  1. Go to the Apple Menu > System Preferences > Privacy & Security Screen Recording.
  2. Make sure that your microphone can be accessed by browsers or the Constructor app if you are using it.
If these settings are grayed out, you must allow changing them first. Click on the lock icon at the bottom of the window to unlock the settings. You will be prompted to enter your administrator name and password.
Your browser is not supported

Pay attention to what browser the student is using - The system has detected that your browser is not supported.

Use the latest version of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge to take the exam. Refer to the following article for instructions on how to check the browser for updates.

No access to the screen

Access to screen recording is disabled in the OS settings. As a result, you are constantly asked to share your screen.

  1. Go to the Apple Menu > System Preferences > Privacy & Security Screen Recording.
  2. Make sure that your microphone can be accessed by browsers or the Constructor app if you are using it.
