Helpful Hints for Getting Started: How the Learning Software Works

The following explanatory notes can help you get started with Grafari (Orthograph). Remember to adjust the content to students' ages.

Three games guide students through their training.

Grafari (Orthograph) decides how long the student should spend on each game and determines which words should be practiced. The software monitors and guides the training on an individual basis. As soon as a word has been learned, it disappears from the regular training and is added to the repetition module. After a certain amount of time, it is presented to the student once more. If the student continues to be able to spell it correctly, the word is considered to have been per- manently assimilated. After 20 minutes, Grafari (Orthograph) informs the user that they have trained enough for today.

    A few tips and tricks:

Uppercase letters are indicated with a cylinder, lowercase with a sphere.

    • The color of the characters aids in remembering the letters.
    • If an incorrect letter is typed, an error tone will sound and the right answer will flash. This helps the student to correct the error instantly.
    • Students can collect points from all exercises and use them to buy new game functions in the reward shop.
    • Every time a student completes a module, a celebratory firework appears.
    • Students can check your progress level at any time and feel proud of what they‘ve achieved.
    • Students can reward themselves for each training session by placing a sticker in the sticker book and collect a medal for each completed module.
