This article provides instructions on how to troubleshoot the 'Failed start record screen' error when using the Proctor mobile application on the iPhone.


Symptom

Unable to start the exam on mobile phone because of the 'Failed start record screen' error.


The problem looks as shown in the screenshot below:


Cause

Screen recording is not allowed on your phone.


Resolution

  1. Click Done.

  2. Click Start the exam:
  3. Confirm App Self-Lock by clicking Yes:
  4. Allow screen recording by clicking on OK:
