Constructor LMS Release 105

Overview

We're pleased to announce fixes and numerous improvements aimed at enhancing user experience in our latest release. We have refactored how events are sent to the audit service and introduced new methods for generating reports on surveys. We’ve also improved our Composition and Media Block editor, My courses page, and continued working on learner surveys integration, Communication hub and group activities support in LMS.

Improvements and fixes

Improvements

  • When a new activity is added to a published objective, the objective can be reviewed. If a new activity is started within the finished objective, the objective result will not change, but the new activity will be recorded as “finished” in all objectives it belongs to.

  • Authors can now create Media block and Sub-compositions directly in the Composition editor's tree interface. They can add new elements to the root composition using the Add button at the bottom or to child compositions through the options menu. These elements can be named and saved instantly. Each library tab offers the option to create and add new elements, accessible via a dropdown menu within the composition.

  • The password restoration workflow is improved: the lifetime of the link to restore the password can be controlled from the tenant settings. The user’s Username is shown on the password restoration page, and after the user creates a new password, they are automatically logged into the system.

  • We support sending usernames to external SSO providers. Thus, users don’t have to input their username twice when logging into the system using external SSO.

  • Images inside media blocks can be resized, cropped, and aligned on the page. Text wrapping around images can be set to left, right, around, or no wrapping.

  • Search functionality is available on the My Courses page. Users can search within course descriptions, codes, and names. Results are highlighted.

  • Courses are sorted alphabetically on the My Courses/Catalog page. If there are names in non-Latin alphabets, Latin names will appear first, followed by non-Latin names.

Fixes

We've fixed the following issues:

  • Standard password manager is displayed when a user restores their password and creates a new one.

  • Issues with saving the About the course page are resolved.

  • The Duration setting for media block components is now available in the content flow configuration.

  • Grading scale values are now sorted correctly.

  • Now, users are directed to the course page immediately upon pressing Start for a course in which they are enrolled. Previously, a Continue button appeared in cases of slow internet connection after starting the course.

  • We no longer display the Start the course and Start again buttons on the My courses page for courses that can be retaken.

  • Now, courses in the In grading state can be revoked.

  • SCORM (interactive component) duration can now be changed in the Content flow configuration.

  • We fixed an issue with tiled compositions not displaying correctly as child elements in courses.

  • We save the selection in the Active/Historical dropdown in Reports when navigating back and forward.

Known issues

  • Sizes of attached files are shown only for newly-uploaded files.

  • A new toggle cannot be created within a toggle.

  • New members cannot be added to a newly created team without refreshing the screen.

  • The date and time selector sometimes does not fit on the screen in Reports.

  • When signing out from Avatar, a user is not signed out from LMS.

  • External links to cover images cannot be edited.

  • Error 401 occurs after an upload of a SCORM package is canceled and the second upload attempt is initiated. The page refresh is necessary to initiate the upload.

  • Settings applied for a specific SCORM version are not appropriately distinguished.

  • The “Not found” text is displayed when a learner attempts to start a quiz with a due date in the past.

  • The Customize Default View setting does not apply to the Collections filter.
